Scott Boetjer

I grew up, like many kids, with an insatiable curiosity for all things nature: bugs, dirt, trees, rocks. Good stuff. But unlike some, I never really lost my fascination with those things. One thing led to another and I eventually earned my Bachelor of Science in Landscape Horticulture and a Masters in Landscape Architecture.

I’ve worked in both public and private sectors as a consultant, landscape contractor, and orchard manager. Since launching my design career, I’ve worked on projects including: Seattle Parks and Recreation improvements, SPU storm water mitigation, public and private school playgrounds, multi-family complexes, and single-family residential.

Oh and the name is pronounced “Betcher.”

Some Questions You May Have

Who will work on my project?

I am a one-man-outfit, for now. I have a network of engineers, architects, contractors, and other consultants to bring on as needed to get your project done.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes I am a licensed landscape architect in the State of Washington working within a licensed business. Yes I am insured.

What kind of design work do you do?

That’s a tough one because every site reads differently and each client brings their own unique perspective and influence. I try to always ask and answer the big “why” questions. Every design decision should have reason and purpose. Otherwise, why do it at all?

Can you handle permitting? My project has some hurdles.

If you have hurdles, I can jump through them with you. If I can’t, I know someone who can. Permitting can be a frustrating time and resource consuming process. Steep slopes, designated wetlands, right-of-way infringement….let’s have a chat and make a plan.
